It prides itself for its wealth of wildlife such as leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro river. There are also over 365 species of birds that can be found in the sanctuaries. Samburu National Reserve is a rugged and semi-desert park located in Samburu district in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The park is next to the homes of the Samburu tribe of Kenya, a tribe known for their remote culture, pastoral and nomadic way of life. Due to its remote distance and the fact that it was inaccessible for many years, the park exudes an ironic aura of serenity that challenges that of the wild life. Guests stay at selected Lodge, set along the bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River laid out around the natural springs that flow into the river. The Lodges have a virtual mini forest of indigenous trees, a fish pond and a large free form swimming pool. Indeed, a Kenya luxury safari you have dreamed of.

Itineraries

Day 1

Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve (320 km – 5 to 6 hrs)

We will depart Nairobi in the morning and drive south along the Central Kenya Highlands. After check in and relaxing, you may go swimming or take an afternoon siesta. Later depart for an afternoon game viewing drive to Samburu, Shaba and buffalo springs reserves.

Day 2

Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, we will leave for a full morning game drive. We will drive through the wilderness and spot for leopards, hippos, elephants, lions, and giraffes among other wildlife. We will return to the lodge for lunch and spend some time relaxing. In the afternoon, we will set off for an evening game drive and bask under the beautiful sunset before we return to the lodge.

Day 3

Samburu National Reserve – Nairobi (320 km – 5 to 6 hrs)

We will start the day with an early morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast. You may spend a few hours swimming or relaxing before we check-out. We will arrive in the afternoon and you will be dropped off in any drop off points most convenient to you.
