Itineraries

Day 1

6.00am

This tour starts early morning at 6.00am when you will be picked by our guide from your hotel/residence and head straight to Nairobi national park, a drive of approximately 20minutes from your hotel. At the park, the guide will drive you through the vast grasslands to spot wildlife. You will look out for the big five (elephants, rhinos, leopards, buffalo, lions). The guide will come in handy to explain the different flora and fauna that you come across. It will also be an opportunity to see the different species of birds at the park and you can take photos of these magnificent animals on the background of the city's skyscrapers. Tour of the park will end by 1030hrs upon which you will exit and drive a distance of 10minutes to David Sheldricks elephant orphanage which is part of the larger Nairobi National park and be taken on a tour to view the baby elephants being taken care of after losing their mothers. Here you will have more opportunity for close up photos with the calves and you can even touch them. The tour lasts an hour from 1100hrs to 1200hrs after which you will proceed to the Karen Blixen museum. Here, you will be led by an English speaking guide to explore the house of the renowned Danish author Karen Blixen who settled here among the first pioneers of coffee growers in Kenya. Attraction here include the house itself, art, house holds and machinery all of which are used during her stay in the 1920's. Next you will be taken by our guide for lunch before your final destination at The Bomas of Kenya. This is a cultural heritage centre established by the government to preserve the diverse culture of the different ethnic communities in Kenya. You will be treated to a dance performance depicting the different cultures. From the Kikuyu circumcision songs to the warrior songs of the Maasai and the Swahili taarab songs, will be a beautiful sight. You can also take a walk to view the traditional villages (Bomas/ homesteads) representing major ethnic groups in Kenya and their way of life.
